Application Process

How do you get started?

Once you have an idea, please feel free to reach out to the LSF Grants Committee to discuss, get suggestions, or ask questions. We have a team ready to chat and help as needed. We can be reached at grants@lincolnschoolfoundation.org.

Then . . . .

  1. Meet with your principal to discuss your grant idea.  You need their approval.  Work with your principal and colleagues to work out the idea and find collaborators.

  2. Fill out an application.  The application is a Google document.

    a. Save a copy to your Google drive (or download the form).

    b. Share the saved copy with your collaborators so that you can work on the application together.

  3. Have the application signed and approved by your principal(s), Rob Ford (if technology related), and Torrance Lewis.

When you are ready to collect the signatures at the end of the form, just share the document and ask people to enter “Signed by NAME on DATE” in the signature area. Google Docs revision tracking features will contain a record that verifies who “signed” it, so you will not need to print a copy and get written signatures.

  4. Submit the application via email to grants@lincolnschoolfoundation.org.

What happens next?

A board member will be assigned to your application to summarize and present your grant during the grant review process.

Your grant application will be reviewed by the LSF Board at their first meeting after the closing of the grant cycle in May, or at the next meeting, typically on the first week of each month from September to January for any out-of-cycle grants.

All grant applicants, their principals, and appropriate administrative staff will be notified shortly after the meeting. If your application is accepted, you will be assigned a LSF Liaison as your point of contact to assist you with the grant.

The Liaison will send an email with an official grant letter and an information sheet.

You can spend the grant as was agreed and submit receipts for payment through your school’s financial channels as defined in the grant application award.

If you receive a grant, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire after implementation. We want to know more about how the grant went, lessons learned, and how to improve the LSF-school collaboration.
